With only a few weeks left before Christmas, one might still not feel the spirit of the holiday season because of too much work. Why don't you sit back, relax and anticipate what this occasion is about to bring.
Below is my personal list of things that reminds me of Christmas. Read on and just like me, I hope you would also look forward to fun-filled times ahead with the family.
1. Puto Bumbong and Bibingka

These two food items are distinctly Pinoy while being closely associated with Christmas at the same time. It is because these are ordinarily sold at stalls near the church during Simbang Gabi. In Malabon, however, as soon as the "Ber" months arrive, you can already have a taste of these yummy holiday goodies.
2. Red Cups at Starbucks
Starbucks Christmas promo: coffee = 2012 planner
It is nothing out of the ordinary to enjoy a cup of coffee from Starbucks. However, they make coffee drinking extra special every Christmas season. They offer drinks with a Christmasy feel such as the Toffee Nut Latte and Peppermint Mocha variants. This year, they added another variant which is the Cranberry White Chocolate Mocha. Not only would you get a delicious caffeine fix but you'll also get the coveted Starbucks 2012 planner as soon as you complete the Christmas promo card.
3. Stalls selling lanterns in Buendia
Lantern stalls line up in one corner of the Buendia-SLEX intersection
(just in front of Cash and Carry Mall)
As soon as you see the stalls lining up in the vicinity of Buendia-SLEX, one would realize that it is Christmas indeed. These stalls, usually put up by October, sell Christmas lanterns of different shapes, sizes and colors. If a decor caught your eye while you're on your way to Makati CBD, you can just park your car and haggle away instantly. Most people suggest that it would be cheaper to buy there right after Christmas since they are flushing out the season's inventory. Now that's what you call a real early Christmas decor shopping for 2012.
4. TV Networks' Christmas Station ID
ABS-CBN's Da Best ang Pasko ng Pilipino
Aside from coming up with Christmas specials in their regular programs, TV stations concoct Christmas station IDs to convey the merry feeling of the holiday. I personally look forward to watching each of the network's ID since they showcase their talents in one production. This year, ABS-CBN's production perfectly and effectively conveyed what a "Pasko ng Pilipino" is. Regardless of your location in the world, it is undeniable that Pinoys have a distinct warm way of celebrating Christmas. You may read an insider's story about this ABS-CBN's production in Superwomom's blog.
5. Christmas Bazaars and Tiangge
Christmas is synonymous to gift-giving. That is the reason why there are numerous tiangges and bazaars week after week. It is in these flea markets that one can find great gift ideas such as bags, shoes, clothing and even food items. Also, not to mention, the prices are cheaper as compared to those found in malls. For a list of 2011 bazaars around the metro, you may find it in Bazaar Manila's site.
How about you? What are the stuff that reminds you of this joyous occasion?
